The ShareIn team has grown quickly over the last couple of years. It’s our amazing people that make the magic happen. In our meet the team section we aim to tell you a little more about the people behind the scenes. This week we talked to George McNaughton.

Who are you?

Hi, I’m George. I live in Glasgow and my career in financial services started over 30 years ago (yes, I really am that old!) in branch banking at Bank of Scotland. Since then I have been fortunate to work for a number of organisations broadening my knowledge of financial services. Latterly I have worked in London, and Dublin.

What do you do at ShareIn?

I joined ShareIn in January 2019 as Head of Compliance. The opportunity to work closer to home, to be part of a growing business and to expand my knowledge into another area of the finance industry was very appealing. I look forward to building on the great work done by the Compliance team so far and supporting the continued growth of the business.

What does ShareIn do to ensure it stays up to date with the latest developments in the regulatory environment?

The pace of change in financial services is ever increasing and it is important to have access to a range of sources to help you keep up to date. Additionally, ShareIn’s work with our Appointed Representatives gives us sight of the many ways in which innovative financial products are being brought to market.

What’s something you would like to tell people about ShareIn that perhaps they don’t know?

We recently launched our first litigation funding crowdfunding platform, AxiaFunder, using our White Label Crowdfunding Software and regulatory compliance service. Following their launch, AxiaFunder were able to fund their first deal in just over a week, and their second deal in just over a day!

What’s your favourite quote?

If you’re going to eat an elephant make sure you do it one bite at a time!

Great advice for someone like me who enjoys a hectic lifestyle.
